    Carolina Bengals Cattery is a small, in-home Exotic Leopard Bengal cattery located in the Raleigh–Durham–Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. All of our Kings, Queens, and Bengal kittens are raised in our home as part of our family, not in cages or separate facilities. This hands-on, family-centered approach allows us to provide exceptional care, socialization, and attention to every kitten we raise.

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years and continue to practice here in North Carolina. My husband, Bill, is a retired stay-at-home dad who lovingly cares for our breeding cats and kittens while I am caring for my patients. With the help of our children, our Bengal cats and kittens receive constant interaction, affection, and supervision. Our babies are almost never left alone, and we even take separate vacations to ensure our breeders and kittens always receive the highest level of care possible.  

Exceptional Bengal Bloodlines and Health Testing

At Carolina Bengals Cattery, we are committed to breeding Bengal cats of outstanding quality, beauty, and health. We have carefully selected and imported many of our top breeding cats from around the world, including Europe and South America. Each breeding cat undergoes extensive genetic testing to ensure they do not carry hereditary defects that could be passed on to their kittens.

In addition to genetic screening, all of our breeding cats receive echocardiograms to rule out heart conditions. We also test for PRA, PKDef, feline leukemia (FeLV), and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) prior to breeding. We are proud to say that none of our breeders carry these illnesses, and they are free of heart murmurs, producing strong, healthy kittens with excellent temperaments.

Raised in Our Home for Superior Socialization

All of our Bengal kittens are raised in our home alongside our children, three dogs, and the normal daily activity of a busy household. This environment ensures our kittens are extremely well socialized, confident, and comfortable with people and other pets. Each kitten is held multiple times per day and is never caged. 

We spare no expense when it comes to raising our Bengals. Our kittens are fed a high-quality raw chicken diet three to four times per day to give them the best possible start in life. While we encourage new owners to continue a raw diet, we understand it may not be suitable for everyone. When kittens go home, they are sent with frozen raw food to help ease the transition to another raw option or a premium canned diet. Hydration is essential, so we emphasize keeping kittens on wet food. We also offer Instinct Chicken dry food, along with healthy treats such as cooked chicken, freeze-dried chicken, and rare roast beef.                        

Hypoallergenic Bengals and Year-Round Availability

Bengal cats are known to be one of the most hypoallergenic cat breeds, making them an excellent choice for allergy sufferers. I am personally allergic to cats and have never experienced allergies with any of my Bengals.
